The Running Warehouse Nike Air Max 90 Hombre Azul blog is a great spot to get the latest news on upcoming lines of shoes from the various big-name manufacturers. In the most recent post, Joe Rubio recounts his experience at the Asics Gold Account Meeting held recently outside of Austin, Texas. Among other things, Rubio reports that it was clear that “Asics, like many other brands, is taking the trend toward minimal-type footwear seriously and planning future footwear to respond to the trend.“So what does Asics have up its sleeve? Details (and pictures) are scanty at this point, but here are a few shoes to keep an eye out for (all quotes are from the Running Warehouse Blog post by Joe Rubio):Asics Gel-Noosa Tri 6 – this is “a model brought over from Australia designed for the Tri market. It’s based on the tooling from the DS Trainer 14 and the colors are Nike Air Max 90 Damen Rosa" pretty out there. Think www.emilytorino.it of your 3 year old putting different colored pieces of Play-doh on your shoe and leaving it out in the sun to dry. Definitely an eye catcher.” Below is a picture of the Gel Noosa Tri 5 (the previous model) – he’s not kidding:Apparently the shoe to watch for is the newly remodeled Asics Gel-Speedstar 5. It supposedly has a unique upper that will come in several color combos and is reported to be “super light.” Wonder if this is Asics answer to the Saucony Kinvara? It’s hard to know at this point what any of these shoes will be like, but it’s good to see another one of the big players in the shoe industry taking minimalist running seriously. My hope is that even if the first round of shoes from these companies fail to satisfy, competition will breed innovation, and we’ll see more and more interesting Nike Air Max TN Donne designs appear on the market Adidas ZX Flux Femme somewhere down the road.Apparently the shoe to watch for is the newly remodeled Asics Gel-Speedstar 5. I’m not going to Nike Air Max 270 Herr stand on a soapbox and say Nike Air Max 270 Femme that everyone should shed their high-tech shoes, because for some this might just be a bad idea. However, if you’re a bit adventurous and are willing to take a leap of faith, it’s an exhilarating experiment to try. I don’t know that it has made me faster Nike Air Max 90 Femme Rose or less injury prone (perhaps it hasn’t accomplished either), but I take comfort in the fact that I can from time to time (more often than not these days) allow my body to function how it was meant to function (i.e., without a massive heel lift).that will soon be introduced by GoLite Footwear (“zero-drop” means no heel lift, so the heel and forefoot will sit in the same plane as the forefoot when in the shoe). These shoes, featuring what GoLite is calling “BareTech Technology” possess a number of design features that should appeal to minimalist www.aadkruiswijk.nl runners, including the aforementioned zero-drop sole (see my previous GoLite post for more details). After a bit of research and some help from a reader (thanks Charlie T.!), I discovered that GoLite Footwear was headquartered just down the road from me here in NH, so I got in touch with them www.aquarillon.fr to ask for more information about the lineup. A GoLite rep got back to me quickly with a few stock pictures, and a press release describing a whole suite of new shoes in the BareTech lineup. She also offered to send me a test pair, which I should be receiving sometime in July (stay tuned!). Based on the sheer number of shoes in the upcoming BareTech lineup, it’s clear that GoLite is a believer in the value of a zero-drop shoe, and that they’re doing more than just testing the water with a single model to see if it sells.
